After two seasons with barely a single pear, in 2020 the ancient Flakey Bark trees fruited once more. They had had a good year; sugars were up, tannins were powerful, and Ross were excited. This is the first bottling from that vintage; one barrel out of the three that was made. Flakey is a stubborn fermenter, so this is naturally sweet but still incredibly tannic perry. It is stupid and unique and if you embrace the weird and wonderful flavour that is the natural expression of this pear: pure delight.
